Elektropolis: Frickin Frickout
2020
The TRANSFORMATOR, the 32-channel 360° sound system, will invite all artists* in the SPREEHALLE to new immersive sound experiments in the future. The all-round listening experience allows visitors to immerse themselves completely in the sound and thus enables a new concert dimension. Paul Frick’s FRICKIN FRICKOUT will be premiered at the opening on September 12. The classically trained musician, who is a star in the field of electronic music, creates special electro soundscapes together with clarinetist Oğuz Büyükberber and Daniel Eichholz on drums. As a counterpoint, Susanne Fröhlich, one of the most sought-after flutists in the context of New Music, will also present an original composition. Marc Sinan plays Steve Reich’s ELECTRIC COUNTERPOINT for 16 guitars in advance, which is considered a milestone of minimal music. Director and video artist Mirko Borscht contributes the immersive visuals to the evening.
