The Marc Sinan Company contributes the soundtrack together with DJ Paul Frick. Holger Kuhla directs, Claudia Wiedemer performs as “Digital Eve” through the evening and Tomás Montes Massa shows his research work “Wirbellos Werden”. Party afterwards! Saturday, 6.4.19:“Der singende Kopf” (UA) – opera fractal by Marc Sinan The opera fractal “Der singende Kopf” by Marc Sinan tells of a dynamic intermediate realm and a digital heavenly realm. The chamber opera “The Singing Head” is based on Ovid’s epilogue to the story of Orpheus and Euridice and the Chinese opera “The Peony Pavilion”. Is the Internet the key to eternal love? With the help of digital data, time and space, physical and mental inadequacies are overcome. This side/that side are seen as a metaphor for reality/virtuality in the context of the staging. At the center then is the eternal question of the fear of death. Would we miss in, would he be surmountable? Can we recognize fulfillment in him when we virtually dominate him? The multimedia collective schnellebuntebilder realizes an immersive room on stage that merges reality and virtuality. For Orpheus, the boundary between life and death no longer exists. On the musical level, Marc Sinan explores the two diametrically opposed principles of digital change: on the one hand, algorithms mercilessly impose the beat on us; on the other, digital communication possibilities dissolve traditional principles of social hierarchy. If new, non-hierarchical ways of cooperation between artists is possible, this utopia could also apply to society. Sinan explores these possibilities in his score. 5/6.4.19:VR theater workshop by CyberRäuber Experts have long debated the theory that virtual reality, although similar to film, is actually more similar to theater. In order to understand why, the participants of this workshop will deal with the topic of field of vision. In film, as in games, the screen defines the view. In virtual reality – as in the theater – the viewer can look where she wants to look. It takes the theater’s ability to mislead to get the audience’s attention. The newest medium thus leads back to the oldest. The CyberRobbers make virtual reality (VR) theater. Their mission is to establish VR as a storytelling medium in theater. In the workshop, they will explore the possibilities of virtual representations together with the participants.
